The Southern Diving Centre Team Peter CostelloPeter has been diving forever and has logged over 2000+ dives. He is an Advanced Open Water Instructor, a SSI TXR Tri-mix Instructor, a CDAA Deep Cavern Instructor and a Qualified Scuba Service Technician in general servicing and Oxygen Servicing. He has been a part of Southern Diving for the last 14 years and has been the Owner for the last 6 years.
He loves diving for Cray’s, exploring deep wrecks and taking photos of marine life, while diving his Abyss Rebreather, and also diving the fresh water caves of Mount Gambier. His favourite local wreck is the AV Ulonga while his favourite local reefs are Weedy Reef at Victor Harbor, and the Horseshoe Drop-Off at Christies Beach. His best overseas dives are the Aaron Ward and the reefs at Uepi Island both in the Solomons. Ben StantonBen has been diving since 1995 and has logged 2000+ dives. He is passionate about teaching new divers and is currently a Dive Control Specialist and Technical Extended Range Instructor (TXR) as well as a certified CDAA Deep Cavern diver. He has been diving in many exotic locations around the world, including the cenotes in Mexico, Sipidan Island in Borneo and Cornwall in the United Kingdom to name a few. He enjoys the challenges of deep wreck diving, especially the wreck of the USS President Coolidge in Vanuatu. His favourite local dive sites include Seacliff Reef and the wreck of the South Australian.
Rosie DysterRosie has logged about 1000 dives and has a current Instructor rating of Dive Control Specialist Instructor. Rosie's favourite local dive site is Rapid Bay (she also likes taking the V8 around all the bendy bits on the way). Her best dive would be the Australian Sea Lions at Pearson Island and overseas - Vanuatu (President Coolidge).
Stuart CostelloStuart has been diving since 2005 and has logged 400+ dives over his years working in the store at Southern Diving. He loves teaching all scuba courses from Open Water through to the Advanced Courses. He has a wealth of diving experience around our local South Australian dive sites.
Stuart loves the adrenaline rush of cave diving and living on the edge, and also being a Cray catching champion! His favourite dive sites include reefs along the SE Coast and the Ex-HMAS Hobart.
Rob RickettsRob is an Open Water Instructor and CDAA deep cavern rated who haslogged 250+ dives. He has dived many of the sites around South Australia and Queensland, with his favourite dive so far being the shark feed at North Horn on Osprey Reef in the Coral Sea.
The local dive sites that he enjoys the most would be any wreck, but the South Australian stands out as one of the best. He is also keen for a night dive at any time or place, but Edithburgh jetty is rates as one of the best.
Carl MooneyCarl is an Open Water Instructor and also a CDAA Deep Cavern diver and Nitrox Gas Blender with over 500 logged dives, in South Australia, Queensland and overseas. There is no particular type of diving he doesn’t enjoy as long as there is a photo opportunity (his favourite critters are Nudibranchs). Favourite local dive sites would have to be Rapid Bay Jetty and the ex HMAS Hobart, but he loves diving in the warmer waters of the Great Barrier Reef.
Bradley DohntBradley is an Open Water Instructor and a fulltime uni student studying Aquaculture and Marine Biology. He has been diving since Jan 2007 and since that time has completed over 200 dives. He is also the Vice President of the FUUC (Flinders Uni Underwater Club). It is very rare a week goes by when he doesn't get out for a dive. Locally his favourite dive sites would have to be the HA Lumb and Aldinga Reef and he is also particularly fond of night dives.
